Composer, pianist and awarded c-organist Dennis Tjiok studies MMus Composition for Screen with Howard Davidson at the world-renowned Royal College of Music in London, after graduating from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester under composers Laura Bowler, Gary Carpenter and Paul Patterson.

As a composer and performer he has participated in projects ranging from films and games scores to writing musical theatre, besides conducting and performing classical music, as well as Rock, Pop and Jazz. He started writing original music when joining chamber music groups and bands, winning competitions for solo piano and ensemble, as well as the EHF 2010 award for composition, and the RNCM Entrepreneurship Award for the creation of ODM Project, audio-visual events promoting organ music and astronomy, supported by YAMAHA.

Works and performances have taken him to Wigmore Hall London, Bridgewater Hall Manchester, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Toronto Summer Music Festival, Leeds Lieder Festival, Buxton International Festival, Berliner Philharmonie, The English Theatre Frankfurt and Baden-Baden Filmfestival a.o. with radio features on Berlin FM, Die Welt & Salford City Radio.
He is co-founder of the chamber music series AD Festival Days in Manchester and has taken on the post as Director of Music at Christ Church Isle of Dogs London in Fall 2019.

Recently Significant Collaborations:

New wind quintet Ecotopia performed by North Winds and Festivo Winds at Bridgewater Hall Manchester, as a commission for Manchester´s new eco systems.

Original Soundtrack MARS VR (director Marius Schmücker), collaboration with Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.

Performances with visual artist and composer Caroline Bordignon as part of XHI – Live Artwork & Musical Exploration promoted by GQ Magazine and LeGaleriste Canada.

New music commissioned for the RNCM Kaija Saaijaho Festival, performed by pianist Philip Sharp.

Nomination for Best Film for the music artist portrait IN BETWEEN directed by Marius Schmücker at the Baden-Baden Film Festival with pianist Alexey Pudinov.
